As we quickly approach the finish line of 2022, it’s customary to take a look back at the year and reflect on all the good it had to offer. From kitchen makeovers that took our breaths away to the simple and delicious recipes you all couldn’t stop whipping up, it’s been a banner year here at The Kitchn. Now, as a shopping editor, I’d be remiss if I didn’t talk about all of the great kitchen products we discovered this year. Whether it was a game-changing gadget, a new cookware staple, or a delectable food item that earned a coveted spot in our pantries, the finds this year were awesome — and you all thought so, too. In honor of the year coming to a close, we rounded up the 22 kitchen finds that garnered the most love this year from both our editors and you, dear readers. So without further ado, these are the products that became your new kitchen essentials in 2022.

A good chef’s knife is key in the kitchen, but there are some jobs that a giant blade just can’t do. Enter Material's knife trio. This set includes a 4-inch knife to tackle intricate tasks, a 6-inch serrated knife (so helpful for cutting bread and tomatoes!), and a classic 8-inch chef’s knife for the perfect collection of knife essentials. The handles come in a few different colors, which means that — unlike clunky 12-piece knife blocks — this set wins when it comes to function and form.

Kitchn readers went wild for this incredible gluten-free pasta after our contributor, Stella, raved about it. Unlike many gluten-free pasta varieties that can taste off when it comes to texture, ZENB uses yellow peas for their noodles, which results in a very pasta-like texture. It also happens to be packed with protein, so you're actually full after your meal, too. Perfect for any gluten-free (or gluten-loving!) foodie, this variety pack will make your next pasta night delicious and nutritious.

We didn't think food storage containers could look pretty until this set from Caraway came along. True to the brand's aesthetics, the containers come in fun colors and have a glass lid so you can see what's inside. Senior Commerce Editor Ian Burke particularly appreciates the bookend-esque organizer that keeps the containers — well, contained — in his kitchen cabinets.

Bissell's PowerFresh Vacuum and Steam Mop is an all-in-one tool that transformed our mopping experience. It cleans and sanitizes using just water and the power of steam. It has separate canisters for debris and water along with washable mop pads. Most impressively, it vacuums and steam mops at the same time. Yeah, it's easy to see why we all fell in love with this beauty this year!

Glass storage containers are some of Kitchn readers' favorite buys, especially when they're consistently on sale, like this 22-piece set from Pyrex is right now. It includes a mix of rectangular and circular containers in varying volumes, plus matching lids, so you’ll have everything you need for storing leftovers, prepped ingredients, or marinating meats. The dishwasher-, oven-, freezer-, and microwave-safe containers are super versatile and easy to care for.

Readers ask us all the time if All-Clad is worth the money, and we tell them that it is — especially when it comes to this fry pan. It has three bonded layers (that's what the D3 means), so it heats super evenly and gives meat that coveted sear. It's also comfortable to hold and doesn't discolor easily. Plus, it'll last for ages.

Of all the frothers we've tried, this Clevr blends gadget takes the cake. Our Managing Editor Tamara uses it daily, explaining: "Not only is this gadget sleek looking, but it’s also extremely effective and gives me that creamy microfoam I thought only actual baristas could achieve." A lifetime of barista-worthy lattes for just $18? We'll take it!

As you've likely already gathered, we're all obsessed with Great Jones sheet pan. Whether you're roasting veggies or baking cookies, it's going to have your back every time. This is one of those pieces that you'll keep in your kitchen for years and years, thanks in part to its durable, aluminized steel construction.

When Made In launched this enameled cast-iron set earlier this month, we all lost it in the best way. The set includes the brand's 5.5-quart Dutch oven and cast-iron skillet for the multipurpose pair every kitchen needs. We can say with confidence that if you had to get rid of every piece of cookware in your kitchen and just use these two pieces, you’d be in tip-top shape. Oh, and it comes in five stunning colorways!

These refrigerator liners were a big discovery for our team (and readers) in 2022. Kitchn writer Amy Gordon read the Amazon reviews for them so you don’t have to, and it’s unanimous: They’re easy to use, easy to clean, and just plain genius. “I love these liners … they make such a difference in the appearance of my fridge and are so easy to take out and clean,” a satisfied Amazon shopper shared.

Who doesn't love a good pour-over coffee maker? The Hario V60 quickly became a fan favorite this year after senior commerce editor Ian raved about it earlier this year. Elegant and downright fun to use, this pick is also a small-space-friendly find java lovers in tiny abodes will adore.

Not all cutting boards are created equal. If you’re an Always Pan loyalist, you’ll love the Our Place Daily Board. It’s large without being heavy, it’s constructed from 100-percent recycled plastic, and it stays in place thanks to non-slip plastic strips. “Long story short, I’m totally obsessed,” says Kitchn writer Stella. “The simple kitchen essential is really so important to any and every meal, from snack to multi-course dinner. Since I’ve had the Daily Board at the ready, I’ve found all my culinary tasks so much easier.”

A Dutch oven is one of the most versatile kitchen tools you can have because it can go from stovetop to oven with ease and you can make almost anything in it. This enamel-coated, cast-iron workhorse from Staub has long been one of our favorites, so we were elated to hear so many of you love it, too.

If you're a true coffee fan, an Aeropress is a must. When we tested various coffee makers to determine which method could produce the best Italian-style cup — the Aeropress brew was the clear winner, a perfect 10 out of 10. Needless to say, readers agree.

Le Creuset may be revered for its Dutch ovens, but its stoneware shouldn't be slept on. Case in point: the Heritage Stoneware Covered Casserole. Featuring a vintage Le Creuset design and coming in a host of gorgeous colors, this rectangular baker is ideal for everything from bubbly lasagnas and casseroles to Sunday roasts and more.

Part vacuum, part sweeper, this lightweight Bissell gadget is an Amazon favorite with thousands of five-star reviews to its name. So, why the hype? The key lies in Bissell's combination of power rotating bristles and easy-glide rubber wheels, which allow you to quickly make work of any surface in your home, including hardwood floors, tile, area rugs, and carpet. A slim base and lay-flat handle ensure you can get into all of those hard-to-reach spots, including under your bed and beneath the dining room table to pick up the remnants of dinner. The best part? It’s so quiet you may not even notice it’s on!

These shrunk-down versions of the classic Dutch oven make for an adorable way to serve anything made in the larger version, but they also work well for individual portions of macaroni, a cheese souffle, or a pot pie. We also like them for serving nuts or even condiments during an outdoor picnic. Tres chic!

When we heard about Acid League's Maker Series, we were jazzed. When we tested the brand's first spotlight kit from Barcelona-based brand Onima, we were floored. This Maker Series-approved kit is made up of three very different, yet simultaneously harmonious, sauces: Malson, IL Mig, and Cry Baby. Delectable and nuanced, this kit is a must for hot sauce aficionados.

We cover a lot of knives here at The Kitchn, but one that readers couldn't stop adding to cart this year was the Global Model X 8-inch chef's knife. Made in Japan of the finest stainless steel called Cromova 18, it's perfectly balanced, razor-sharp, and a simply divine find.

Tinned fish is having a moment and one of our favorite finds was Scout's Wild White Albacore Tuna. A chef-founded brand, Scout’s sustainably caught tuna fish packs a fresh taste that'll have you wondering, "Is this what I've been missing all my life?"

By now, you're likely are aware of the popularity of Stanley and its infamous Quencher tumbler — but the brand has so much more to offer. This year saw the release of its limited-edition Vintage Loom line, a seasonal assortment with stacking beer pints you won't want to live without. Coming in three colors, these pints are equipped with the brand's vacuum-insulated stainless steel, meaning you can toast to 2022 with a cold pint for hours to come.

Over the years, TRUFF has become a staple in many homes, but when the brand launched its White Truffle Oil earlier this year, we found this rich oil was a quick and easy way to take a meal from good to great in seconds.
